Taking to his X account, the football chief issued a strongly worded statement, categorically rejecting claims that the Tricolor had approached the Santos star.
The speculation had been sparked by comments from Fluminense’s head of physiotherapy, Nilton Petrone, also known as File, who referred to Neymar as the “last genius of Brazilian football” on the Setor Sul Podcast.
"Regarding Neymar, I clarify that there has been no recent contact between Fluminense and the player, or his staff,” Bittencourt said.
“Fluminense has immense respect for Santos and, obviously, the club and the player are 100% dedicated to winning the remaining games in the Brazilian Championship."
