Tottenham were heading for relegation under Igor Tudor.

The 48-year-old was sacked in March after losing five of his seven games in charge following just 44 days at the helm.

Spurs were one point above the relegation zone when Roberto De Zerbi arrived in his place, and avoided relegation to the Championship after the Italian won three and drew two of the final seven games.

Tottenham finished two points above the drop zone after Joao Palhinha scored the winning goal against Everton, and January arrival Conor Gallagher has slammed Tudor for what life was like under him.

"The last manager wasn't having me, and the fans didn't think I was any good," Gallagher said, emphasising how his confidence needed rebuilding.

The Englishman has since started every game under De Zerbi, scoring once in the 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at the start of May and now in a much better spot mentally.
