Bernardo Silva, John Stones, and Pep Guardiola are all set to leave the Etihad Stadium, with Silva and Stones' departures officially confirmed by the club.
Silva's exit, in particular, will hurt City fans. Signed all the way back in 2017 and the joint-most decorated player in the club's history with 20 major honours, the Portuguese magician will leave a huge void in midfield.
But when explaining why he's leaving the Cityzens after winning another Carabao Cup and FA Cup, the 31-year-old said it was because he's achieved everything he wanted to at the Etihad Stadium and wants a "new challenge".
"It's a mix of things, in terms of trophies, in terms of what I personally achieved here, it's never enough, but I feel that we won a lot, our generation," Silva said in an interview.
"It's time for these young guys to have their moment, and for me personally, it's an opportunity to go a bit closer to my family.
"It's been quite a long time, 12 years, that I've been apart, and quite far away, and I want to be a bit closer to them.
"Also, I want a new challenge, even though I love the football club, and I loved the nine years here, I feel it's the right moment for me."
Silva's 'dream' move is reportedly Barcelona, but Atletico Madrid, Juventus and several other European giants want to snap him up on a free.
