Luiz only started one of Villa's final nine Premier League games after spending the first half of the season on loan at Nottingham Forest.
The midfielder also only featured for a two-minute cameo in the Europa League final triumph against Freiburg, with Unai Emery preferring a double pivot of Youri Tielemans and Victor Lindelof.
According to The Athletic's Jacob Tanswell, Emery has rejected the 28-year-old's option to buy for €25 million (£21.6m), and he will instead return to work under head coach Luciano Spalletti at Juve.
The former Manchester City talent was only brought to the club after Villa were left short of midfield options due to injuries to Boubacar Kamara, Tielemans and John McGinn.
Whilst he didn't play a prominent role, at least his 224th and final appearance for the club ended with a European trophy, ending their 30-year drought for major silverware.
