Lewis Hall has explained how Kieran Trippier has been a role model for him during his time at Newcastle United.

Trippier is leaving once his contract expires at the end of the season, with Sunday's fixture against West Ham being his final one at St James' Park.

It's going to be emotional for the large majority inside the stadium who have watched the full-back amass 33 goal involvements in 159 appearances for the club, all while bringing success back to the North East.

The 35-year-old has played a starring role in Newcastle's two Champions League campaigns and their Carabao Cup final victory over Liverpool last year. But all good things must come to an end, and Lewis Hall has expressed emotion over Trippier's pending exit.

"He's going to be a massive miss. He's obviously an incredible player and an incredible person. The way he helps everyone off the pitch is unbelievable," Hall admitted.

“With me playing in a different position throughout training (before Nottingham Forest last weekend), he's given me advice, telling me different things to do. He's been a great role model for me in learning the position at left-back. He's an incredible person and an incredible player.”

Naturally a left-back, Hall was forced into playing on the right flank in the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest last week due to injuries, and Trippier offered him advice during the training sessions.

The 21-year-old has developed into one of the Premier League's most promising defenders, and he can surely thank Trippier for some of his rapid development.
